US/CA Shipment Delay, Game FAQ, $200 for Missions
about 5 years ago – Sun, Feb 24, 2019 at 01:03:44 AM

So, we had a small delay in shipping copies for the US and CA.  UPS was not able to do such a large pickup on Thursday or Friday, so no copies went out for domestic shipment (have I mentioned the game is HUGE).

They are scheduled to pick up the copies on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week.  All backers will receive tracking numbers using their BackerKit email address once they are shipped.

FAQ

I have an ongoing FAQ being built over at BoardGameGeek.com here - https://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/2154347/rules-faq-progress

So far, there haven't been any major issues with the ability to play, but this does have some clarifications on how things work for those interested.  It is also a great place to post questions if you have any.

That being said, I know a lot of people do not have BGG accounts.  You are always welcome to send me questions on Kickstarter or our Discord server in the #DefenseGrid channel.

You can join the Discord Server here - https://discord.gg/9hcsJr

$200 for Missions

So, keeping with my trend of being way too honest, I am not sure I have enough time to reliably make great Missions for our extra 24 Missions we plan to deliver.  As a result, I will be offering to pay others who want to put the time in to making Missions for Defense Grid: The Board Game that meet my requirements to deliver to our backers.

I will be paying $200 per Mission that I accept for delivery to backers.

I am going to wait to post more details on what is required for each of the 24 Missions after at least 90% of backers have received copies, but just wanted to let people know we will be doing this.  This is to make sure that everyone has a chance to participate if they want to do so.

If you want to start playing around with making your own Missions in preparation, you can do so using the files on our share - https://1drv.ms/f/s!AlF1YaA0uk9vn7gJYKqv9f-dtAD72A

In addition, people will be required to submit the draft Missions to me through Discord, so if you plan to participate, you will want to join the Discord listed above.

Thanks as always and so happy to hear that people are liking the game so far!

Signing copies!

A couple quick photos of ForgedByGeeks and Hidden Path Entertainment signing copies of Defense Grid: The Board Game.

US Copies arrived! EU on March 5th.
about 5 years ago – Mon, Feb 18, 2019 at 10:08:07 PM

First, if you like Defense Grid: The Board Game, please share that with others.  One of the best ways to do so is just to write a simple post or reply on BoardGameGeek.com and rate the game there.  In addition, Reddit frequently has threads of "what game did you play last week" that can help.

Our game is now for sale at http://www.forgedbygeeks.com (note no new sale copies will ship till after all backer copies have been shipped).

AUSTRALIA

Our first backers in Australia have reported receiving their copies of Defense Grid: The Board Game.  This is amazing to hear and I cannot wait to find out if people like the game.

So far, I am hearing that the component quality is top tier like I was targeting, so that's awesome!

US & Canada

Gamerati has received the palettes of the game and are busy unpacking them.  I am also scheduling our signing session with Hidden Path Entertainment which should take place later this week.

EU

The ship for Europe and most of the Rest of World is still on its way.  Sadly it won't arrive at port until March 5th, but its going.

Thank you again for backing!

New Store Online
over 5 years ago – Tue, Feb 12, 2019 at 01:27:27 AM

BackerKit page is now locked down and my new direct purchase store is now online.

https://www.forgedbygeeks.com/

It's far from a great design, but its a start.  It has the new price of $109 with free shipping to US & Canada and $20 shipping to the rest of the world.

No additional sales will ship out until all backer and previous pre-order copies have shipped for the entire world.  This is for all future orders.

On a side note, sounds like people receiving their copies from our Australian distribution should start getting them within a week.  That is only about 65 out of over 1000 copies, but its a start.

Thanks again!
